The Skirvin Hilton Oklahoma City – Oklahoma City, Ok

A:

There are a few metered spaces right in front but Oklahoma they are usually full. You can valet or you can go park in the parking garage around the block & walk to the hotel.

UPDATE: I’ll give credit and throw a star back for sincere/engaged management. I let them know I’m not looking for anything at this time from them at this time – we are moving on. Original review below.

With its history and beautiful architecture and lobby, the Skirvin was my first choice to kick off a road trip with Mrs. C. After all, you aren’t really on vacation until you are out of the house, right? Our stay started absolutely wonderfully, with friendly staff checking me in early so I could park for a work lunch downtown before coming back for the “official” stay in the evening. The lobby is gorgeous beyond words and a fantastic spot. When we came back later that day, the place was jumping but we had a friendly welcome from the manager and got settled in for the evening.

The room itself was adequate but the AC unit could not keep up with the heat, so it was pretty uncomfortable at first. But we slept pretty well until 2:21 am, when drunken, violent guests kicked off quite a ruckus. Called for security, but whoever came up was not effective at calming them down. I kind of count on night staff to be alert so I am not having to make decisions about things like whether I need to call the police while sleep deprived and not thinking clearly … the screaming finally stopped around 3:45, which meant my night of sleep was pretty much ruined. I should Oklahoma have called the cops; I just wasn’t alert enough and made the wrong decision.

Reported the issue a second time in the morning and got an apology, which is … well, let’s just say we’ve had much more minor hiccups at lower-yıldız hotels on this vacation, and they proactively took steps to make it right. Not so much here.

A great place to have visited once, but I can’t recommend the Skirvin.

This is a review for their monthly High Tea.

I believe it is the first Saturday every month at 1pm. You will need to call their reservations number to book your table.

I was so pleasantly surprised to find high tea in OKC. The Skirvin’s dining room özgü a wonderful old world charm and the tea experience was great! (Note that I may have inflated the ratings because it is just so hard to find a lot of things in OKC, so 5 stars for the experience).

The selection of tea was smallish (I believe 8-10 flavored black tea, green tea, and herbal tea), but no simple unflavored options (you can request English breakfast tea, but it’s not the fancy loose leaf kind). You can try different flavors of tea during your dine-in which is a plus!

Unlimited (I believe) tea snacks – today’s selection included finger sandwiches, various flat bread pieces, savory pastries on the lower tier of the tea snack tower, sweets on the mid tier (chocolate covered strawberries, lemon bars, macarons, brownies), and choux pastry and deviled eggs on the top tier. There are also scones (American style) with jam, cream (not clotted cream) and honey.

Price was $45 per person, plus 20% gratuity, plus tip.

So I’ll admit that this is a little pricey, and yes, the tea selection could be larger, and yes, the pastries could have been crispier or warmed, but come on, high tea in OKC is a great find! I’ve been to high tea in larger metropolitans but it’s the experience that we are going for here, in a quaint old time hotel, getting dressed up with your girlfriends, sipping tea while there’s live harp music playing in the background. I say go splurge and take your girls out to high tea (afternoon tea), and don’t forget to wear a fascinator (my friend DIY’ed hers)!

Loved this hotel. You can tell the staff here takes pride in this property. I also hosted a meeting here and it went flawlessly. The valet parking and the room service were my favorite parts. For sure try the goat cheese pizza it was very good!

My only request would be to include lotion. I can’t remember the last Hilton property I stayed in that didn’t offer that toilet tree. Even the lower cost Hilton properties do!

We spent one night at the Skirvin Hilton while passing through and spending a little time in Oklahoma City.  I got a good deal on the hotel online and I would rate the value for my money excellent; far better than anywhere else I stayed on our 3 week trip.  The hotel was beautiful and was very well maintained.  It had a historical feel to it, but at the same time, things seemed clean and new. Our room was a decent size and I found the bathroom fairly large.  It was very fancy.  The hotel was a short walk from Bricktown, where there’s lots of restaurants and entertainment.  I would definitely stay here again.

From the moment we arrived we had a wonderful stay here! Brian greeted us warmly and helped us with our bags. Our check in process was seamless. We spent time at the Red Piano Lounge and had such fantastic service! Servers were attentive and genuine. The whole hotel, including our room, was beautiful and you could tell staff did a great job keeping everything clean. I loved that they put a Kleenex box in the elevator so you didn’t have to touch the buttons with your bare hands. So clever! Overall we felt very safe due to the safety protocols the hotel put in place and had a lovely stay in OKC.

This hotel was amazing! All the employees were so nice and helpful! Along with the hotel being beautiful. They had a bar with live music when I was there on a Tuesday night. Was very clean throughout my stay. Only thing that was annoying was there was so much construction going on around the building it nearly took me an hour to figure out the parking situation. I ended up just doing $10 self parking right next to the hotels valet.

Thank you for you nice review Vanessa!  So glad you enjoyed your visit.  I’m sorry about all of the construction the city is doing around us.  It should all be over within the next month or so.  I hope you will come back and visit us again!

Oh my! What a delightful gem! We “ran away from home” for an Oklahoma Sooners game for our daughter’s birthday and decided to stay at the Skirvin – YAY!  Here’s what I love:  The employees are amazing – from the manager to the valet, and everyone in between – I could not be more impressed! The place is truly a landmark, a “grande dame” as they say!  And, it also is completely up to date in terms of access to technology!  I expected poor reception and wretched bandwidth – nope!  Both were great!  As they say, “location, location, location” – it is perfectly situated to get anywhere and everywhere!  Did I mention the valets?  Oh my gosh!  Could they be more helpful?  Not pushy just amazing!  Room service was terrific, by the by, as was their groovy bar!  CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!  Let me just add…forgive me but I had not been a big fan of Hilton but this has changed my opinion!  Can’t wait to go back!

Loved this hotel; stayed one night on our cross-country trip. We opted to hisse a little fazladan to stay on a higher floor and got a corner room on the 12th floor. It’s a nice walk to the Oklahoma City memorial, which I highly recommend. The location in the business area did not have a lot of restaurants (in fact, none that we saw), but the hotel bar hamburger was delicious and hit the spot. It’s a beautiful lobby with comfortable seating. We valet parked and the valets were super friendly and helpful. There are other hotels over near the convention center, I would definitely opt to stay closer to the downtown area.

Listen. I absolutely cannot believe I’m having to give The Skirvin Hotel a one freaking star. I’ve been wanting to start in this hotel for a while now. We were celebrating our 12th anniversary tonight and my husband surprised me with a Suite. It was so thoughtful! Since we’ve had the kiddos, we really haven’t got to do much the past several years for our anniversary, so this was very needed and very welcome. When we arrived the smell of lilies or geraniums hit you so nicely, it was a nice teaser for the beautiful lobby that you see. The downstairs was beautiful. We went right upstairs because we checked in through our phone. When we arrived, there was a door sticker applied that lets you know the room was freshly cleaned. I was relieved to see that, with all the stuff going on right now. The room, at first blush was very nice. A separate living/office area, a nice big bathroom with a large shower and around the corner and just passed the cute little shutter, a lovely room with a nicely made bed. We’re set our bags on the table and pulled the covers back to look inside the sheets, as we do anywhere else we stay. I saw what looked to be a mascara stain on the Oklahoma sheet, so to be sure it wasn’t a basic stain, (which in a high-end hotel, there should be no stains anyway), I got a wet rag and started wiping. It was coming off, so I knew i the sheet wasn’t cleaned properly. I called the front desk to explain and the gentleman was very kind and apologetic, offering to have housekeeping come up to change the linen. I thought they would come up and change the whole linen set out, but instead we received a knock on our door and someone handed us two sheets. So we went to change the linens ourselves, all the while asking each other when they signed up to work for Hilton. Whatever, it’s not the end of the world we just expected more from The Skirvin. But then we went and saw that we were laying on… The mattress pad was as messed up as 2020. There were so many questionable stains, some of them you KNOW have been there and not even an attempt was made to wash the pad to get them off. It looked like a bodily secretion stain, a bit of blood and someone spilled either Kool-Aid or rosé. My husband and I kind looked at each other…. What do you do?? You’re there to spend a nice anniversary, something you haven’t been able to do in YEARS. Do you pack up, go home and have ANOTHER year pass with nothing special happening? We set that aside for a moment and went to the living room area where my husband sat down to look at something on his phone. I was going to set down next to him when I saw more stains on the couch. I know this is going to happen. Stains happen, I get it. The issue lies in the negligence in at least attempting to clean them. It wasn’t just one stain I’m one location either. Their were staying on the sheets, on the mattress pad, on the couch seats, on the arm rests, the rug in the bathroom and even the window treatments! I’m seriously shocked that I have to write a review this long. High-end hotel should equal met high-end expectations. Honestly, I’m truly shocked that this has to be an issue here. We checked in at around 3:30pm and were or the door by 9:00pm. You’ll see in the pictures I took, both the good and bad.And before anyone can say, “well, I wish we’d known or you should have told the front desk”, we all know how well just needing new sheets went over. Sorry, but I feel cheated. We didn’t even get to stay a whole night…

Dear Casie, I am so incredibly sorry that your experience was anything less than perfect. I can imagine how frustrating it was to come here to celebrate such a special occasion and to find the stains on the curtain, sofa and sheets. This is truly embarrassing. I assure you this is not our standard and we will ensure this does not happen again. It is our aim to provide you with an exceptional experience and we hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future. Thank you so much for providing the photos and the feedback so that we can review the issues as a team and make the needed changes. We hope you had a Happy Anniversary and would love to have you give us another chance. Sincerely, Mackenzie Plank

I’m really not sure what the hype is for this hotel. It’s nice, but most hotels in Bricktown are nice hotels. It could be the history of the hotel or that it is said to be haunted. I found that the rooms were no different from any other hotel and was priced on the high side for most of the Bricktown restaurants. I didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant, but it looked nice. The location is really good as you are near many main attractions. We got a good deal on Hotwire and thought we would give it a try. I would stay here again, but as this hotel özgü been checked off my bucket list, I could stay anywhere in the vicinity and be happy.
