The Skirvin Hilton Oklahoma City – Oklahoma City, Ok

A:

There are a few metered spaces right in front but Oklahoma they are usually full. You can valet or Oklahoma you can go park in the parking garage around the block & walk to the hotel.

LOklahoma andmark hotel in the heart of downtown OKC. When we stayed they were renovating the hotel. Our floor was in the process of the remodel – room had been Oklahoma completed & was nice. The hall had been gutted and the dirt/dust in the hall was easily tracked into the guest room.

All staff were friendly. Breakfast was very good & the buffet had a nice selection of hot & cold items.

First note: this review is based on a holiday event hosted at The Skirvin. We did not stay in a room.

The good: The hotel is decorated to the nines at Christmas time. Just walking around the lobby and the second level was worth the trip downtown. It was magical for my entire group, and I may take another trip this holiday season just for some nice photos of the family.

The bad: The event my group and I attended was Breakfast With Santa. I have attended fun events like this at Disney World and in Las Vegas, so it is likely my expectations were much too high. – The reservation for the event is over priced (more on that later). – The buffet breakfast food was ok, but definitely not something I would be eager to try again. – While the atmosphere of the hotel was amazing,  the ballroom itself left much to be desired. Considering it was a room full of children, it would have been nice for there to be some fun decorations for them to interact with. – The “cast” was a mix of pleasant and disappointing. The elves were the best, super friendly, sweet and entertaining. Everyone was nice, but it was obvious this wasn’t a big gig to them (it wasn’t on the same level as a Disney event).

The organization seemed ok. Would have been nice for seating to have been assigned, especially for bigger parties, since there are limited seats per table. But things progressed timely.

The ugly: – OK, maybe I am just a stickler, but gratuity traps really bother me. The price is $25 for adults and $16 for kids. However, when you arrive and prepay, they add in an additional gratuity! We ended up at 30 dollars a person, even with a few kids in our group! Why don’t you just advertise it as 30 dollars a person and NOT add in these additional charges at time of payment. I just can’t wrap my mind around the logic of that. I felt scammed, but I couldn’t  say “nevermind” for fear of unwanted charges.

So, will I go back to The Skirvin? Probably. Will my family attend this event again next year? Definitely not.

Thank you for your comments about breakfast with Santa. We all strive to the Disney standard you mentioned and we apologize we didn’t meet and exceed your expectations this visit. On these holiday events we do add gratuity and we try to make sure it is noted in the advertisements we publish. If you wouldn’t mind, how can we make it right for you in this situation? Would you and the family like to come see us for our traditional Sunday brunch, would you like me to adjust off the gratuity. Please contact me anytime.

I recently got married and decided to spend our wedding night at the Skirvin.  What sounded like a great idea at first was all down shortly after arriving.  Our group of about 30 arrived around 10pm to the Skirvin and visited the red piano lounge.  Asides our group there was a mere 2-4 other patrons so clearly we greatly contributing to the bars profit on what would of been a slow night.  We were easily contributing in excess of $1000 in just alcohol alone. After glancing at a menu which says food as served till midnight we were quickly told they are closing the kitchen down and would not do anymore orders for the 20 people(including my bride in her wedding dress) we were denied with not much worry and told we can speak to hotel management if we had a mesele with it.  After making our rounds through various hotel staff members only to be dismissed to the next person and on to the next person. Several members of our party had to UBER elsewhere for food which is no easy task from the downtown area.  And then had to UBER back.  It became clear that the employees were more eager to get home vs. make more money for their company and accommodate the bride and the wedding party.  Copies of their menu clearly state food is served until midnight and can be found here:   skirvinhilton.com/pdf-sk…

After all this we gave up and went to our room feeling much like the maid that Bill Skirivin kept captive on the 10th floor who jumped out of the window since we had already paid for our room prior to arriving.  The icing on the cake was finding bugs in our bed the next morning.  I would avoid this hotel at all costs if it is a special occasion.

One of the bugs I found in my bed 🙁

Really cool hotel. Old school charm with çağdaş touches. Lobby was breathtaking with red curtains, piano bar, chandeliers. Very clean. Room had a wonderful view and lots of windows. Comfortable bed. Overpriced. But our experience was great. And we loved our stay.

This is such a beautiful hotel! We got a great deal on hotels.com which made this a great value. We were able to walk around the corner to a place for dinner. The room was average in size but was clean and comfortable. I loved the mattress and pillows!

We stayed for two nights just to relax and renew. The bed was amazing. Best sleep I’ve had in awhile. Rooms were pretty standard for a hotel room. You can request a microwave:fridge upon request. I wish they would add a list of delivery options for food. If you are looking for a room with a view, request a room that faces the south/west area. Our options were parking garage or brick. They also charge $28/night for parking. Cheaper to park somewhere else then uber to hotel. Definitely check out the red piano lounge down in the lobby. Great vibe and the food, while pricey,  was worth the price tag. For breakfast you can order the buffet to go for 20$/person. I loaded my container up and it was plenty for both me and my husband.

This is probably the prettiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. My boyfriend and I were just in awe. The staff is so friendly, the ambiance elegant and the decor classy. It was so beautifully decorated for the holidays and put us in such a merry mood. We can’t wait to go back just to stay there again. Great job folks!

My wife was treated horribly at this hotel! Don Jackson should not be in the hospitality industry! I do not recommend this Hilton. GM was non-responsive and did not follow thru on his promises. Do not visit this hotel!

Called ahead to ask for a decent room with a view and on a higher floor, the girl asked if I booked on Hotwire and I said yes…because why would anybody hisse full price for something ever, if you had the chance to not hisse full price? It was only $20/night off and I wish I had booked regularly to avoid the rudeness. She asked me to hold on, came back and said ‘uuhhh there aren’t any good rooms left, but we put you in the best possible’. Mind you, this was barely after check-in on a Thursday night (the hotel was dead when we got there). Checked in, went up to the room and it was almost level to the upper level of the parking garage with a huge spotlight shining into the room. We went back downstairs and said, never mind, just give us any room that doesn’t overlook the parking garage, even an interior room. They got the ‘you eat ass face’ and gave us new keys without saying a single word. Not only did this room have a nice view and was a higher level, it was connected to the presidential suite. It was a bigger and better room. Way to discriminate against Hotwire users, when you have a deal. I used to work in a 4 star hotel in downtown Dallas and this is not the way you treat anybody.

The rooms are very run down, in general. The carpets are dingy and always feel damp. The beds are uncomfortable. There was no mini fridge. There was a long, curly pube on the ground in the bathroom. This is all insane considering 3 yıldız hotels in smaller cities right next to OKC (Norman to be exact) are 10 times nicer. I have used hotwire for 4 star hotels in OKC previously but never had the bad luck to get the Skirvin. I will not be booking through HW again for OKC because of the risk of us getting this nasty hotel again.

Dear Jen D – What a horrible experience.  At Hilton, we always aim to ensure every guest feels cared for, valued and respected.  Your feedback will help us deliver upon this brand promise. Guest satisfaction is very important to us and we try hard to make sure all of our guests have a rewarding stay. Thank you for taking the time to provide us your feedback.  Please call me at 405-702-8501 to discuss your experience in greater detailKindest Regards – Brett Sundstrom tv özgü a good verity of action and romantic movies. The bar downstairs is hoppin’ at night and has good service and prices. The only thing I can say about the hotel is their isn’t any parking so you have to use valet but I believe that is everywhere in OKC.
