We came here to celebrate our anniversary for a quick weekend getaway. The customer service from booking to arrival and beyond is spectacular. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was friendly and helpful, as I made a couple calls to rearrange golf and activities once we figured out what the weather would be.

First class service at check in and at all the facilities. We saw many people touring for weddings and I can’t imagine how incredible that experience would be.

We stayed in a heritage room in the carriage house. With your stay at the carriage house, you get access to the spa amenities, continental breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening hors d’oeuvres with wine and beer. There are lots of dining options, but it was hard not to fill up on there built in snacks .

I would Wisconsin come here again and again. It seems like they offer various packages throughout the year and also host some events including a wine and food event in the fall. It’s definitely easy to fill up the weekend with activities on the property, so it’s worth a longer stay!

Carriage house room all set up for our anniversary

My review is only on the hotel and spa services and I’m between a 3 and 4 on star rating.

Good*  Our spa service was really nice and we enjoyed it (Lavender Rain).  Very relaxing and the exfoliation was so relaxing.

*  Spacious rooms / bathrooms

*  Clean rooms

Bad*  Tee Times.  I booked the hotel/golf together and even had a tee time confirmation on my reservation email.  However, the golf course didn’t have our tee time.  Thank god – they had a spot to squeeze us in, but that was a HUGE miss in my book b/c the whole point of coming was for the golf.  My recommendation is to double check all your reservations yourself.

*  We never received an email / call a few days before our trip.  That would have been a nice “can’t wait to see you”.

*  Our check-in person was not at all friendly or helpful and rattled off everything very quickly.  I had to ask for a map and she didn’t explain where anything was – even though she knew it was our first time there.

*  I feel the hotel is in need of a room upgrade.  Our bathroom/room was large (Deluxe King) but there were chippings in the shower, and I agree with the other reviewer, that I thought the plumbing/toilets would have been more uygar.

*  I agree with others that the spa is really small and needs to expand.  It was hard to find a chair in the relaxation area…and the small pools/whirlpools were always full.

All in all – we had a good few days, but I feel there are areas of improvement that could be made.

I strongly question how this place is rated as a 5star place. My girlfriend and I did the girlfriends getaway weekend package and stayed at the carriage house. The staff were friendly and attentive. The spa was a hot mess- it was so crowded and all the lounge chairs and sauna/spa were so busy. I’m sorry but if this is how it is during covid protocol I’d hate to be here beforehand because it was too busy. We were told we would get to use the spa services while we stayed at the carriage house which is true but you need to get there early and get your spot picked out. I had a massage which was great but the facility it self is not 5 yıldız quality. I have had better amenities, nicer facilities and better treatments at places that were regular spas (not 5 star).

The food at immigrant was good, food at tavern was fine. The breakfast options sucked (smoothie bowl, kale salad lox bagel)and would have preferred just like toast or oatmeal (I am lactose and my friend is allergic to nuts).

Yoga on the lake was great but its around a manmade lake and inside- as an fyi bc I thought it was going to be outside. The shops at Woodlake were just sad and disappointing- don’t bother.

For how expensive this weekend getaway was (~$1600)- I would not bother again- spend the money on a plane ticket to Europe (when it’s safe) imo bc this was far too expensive for a subpar weekend experience

Thank you very much Stephanie S, for your recent visit to The American Club and for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your feedback is very valuable and appreciated and I will welcome the opportunity to learn more about your experience. Nothing will please me more than regain your confidence on us.Please feel free to reach out to me directly at (920) 457-4442 yıldız rating and the lack of even trying to be accommodating while saying covid protocols restrict the experience is a weak excuse.i dont see us going back anytime soon

This was our first time here, and we had a wonderful time! We were Very impressed with the hotels cleanliness & Covid protocol, but it was a little confusing. The people at check  really need to explain things more clearly. Be more clear about ordering breakfast each morning & requests needed for afternoon snacks.  Also it was not explained to us we needed to bring the cards in our envelope to our dinner at the Wisconsin Room.

I was a bit disappointed with our spa appointments. I scheduled 6 messages & requested females masseuses for the 3 women in our group, but 2 of us got men. I am going to assume you were short handed cause of Covid.

Also sad we could not go on Factory Tour. We own a custom Cabinet & remodeling company & we use a great deal of Kohler projects, so it would have been cool to see where it’s all made!

Thank you, we will return!

Silverfish bugs and ladybugs in our room, everywhere – gross.Cold “family” pool. Small, tight rooms.I was told there is a fridge in the room – it was actually a wine chiller. My baby’s milk spoiled. I called the front desk, Delaine said, “I’ll talk care of it.” I thought it would be free, we got charged $ 13 for two cups of milk.

Wisconsin Such a disappointing birthday weekend. Kohler hotel AND spa is soooo overrated. Take your money elsewhere.

Wow! This place was built in 1918, so when I stepped through the doors, I felt every bit of being transported back in time. The historic ambience was the best standout here. There’s lots of wood paneling & trim, giving it a dark/mysterious feel to it, felt like a Sherlock Holmes movie, LoL.  When you pull up, you’re greeted by the valet/bell hops Wisconsin (the valet is complimentary for guests staying there) is who are dressed in a coat & top hat, I loved it. Wisconsin After checking in you’re welcomed with a drink, I got a spiced bellini & it was delicious. This place has multiple buildings connecting to the main entrance, so it’s a bit confusing initially.

Rooms: NICE! The amenities in the room & the feel to it, makes this place a 5 yıldız & all the staff were courteous & friendly. The rooms come with plush robes, slippers, an umbrella, mini bar with a second sink outside the bathroom (plus for two staying in the room), small safe, flat screen tv, shower with jets (felt amazing), dimmer switches for the lights, scale in the bathroom (), an iPad to use regarding the hotel features/restaurants/services & a turn down service that gives you chocolate. LoL

Green House: This is a little cafe between the main lobby & the building where I stayed. It’s connected by a walkway & offers complimentary coffee ever morning until 10am. Now like all cafes they have daily specials you can purchase but the coffee & tea are free. I plan on tasting the hot apple cider, spiked.

I did like the Pub style restaurant, Horse & Plow. Their prices were decent & no reservation required but they do get busy during dinner time

One of the most advanced places I have been to in Kohler, WI. Thank you to the designer of this building for making it so beautiful. I hope to come here again and see it’s awesomeness again.

The food here is absolutely unreal. Their breakfast buffet is everything we wanted it to be and more. Our spa package we purchased through Kohler included two breakfasts here where we were able to order anything off the menu AND enjoy all of the buffet. There were stations for omelettes, yogurt parfaits, oatmeal, breakfast pastries, and desserts. There was seafood and even Indian vegetable dishes. From the menu- the ginger pear masala smoothie and banana foster French toast are a MUST. On Sunday there is a mimosa bar. The decor and upstairs parlor is full of history. The wait staff and manager were extremely nice and accommodating. Definitely returning here soon.
